Top 10 Huge Video Games You Forgot Were Coming Out In 2019

September 12, 2019

There’s a whole ton of video games set to
be released in 2019 that have gamers hyped; from Anthem to Devil May Cry 5 and The Outer
Worlds, there’s no shortage of great titles coming our way. But that being said, because of all of the
hype for some of these other big titles, it shouldn’t be much of a surprise that you
may have forgotten about one or two promising ones that you’ll likely want to get your
mitts on. So today, we’re counting the top 10 huge
video games you forgot were coming out in 2019. 10 Shenmue 3
Shenmue was a title that fans of the series had long awaited a sequel for, and now that
time has come! It’s been 18 years since the last Shenmue
game, with the director of the title brushing off some serious dust since not having directed
a game since Shenmue 2 back in 2001. Set to be released in August of 2019, it’s
meant to be the conclusion of protagonist Ryo Hazuki’s quest for revenge. So far, based on demos, there has been some
mixed reviews, but fans are hoping that all of that will be smoothed out by August 27th
when it drops. 9 The Division 2
The Division 2 looks dope. Seriously; since it’s preview at 2018 E3,
it’s a Tom Clancy title that fans have been dying to sink their teeth into. It has expanded on the previous Division’s
mechanics in a big way, with all of the feedback from the original being kept in mind while
this one was developed. This time, the game takes place in Washington
DC seven months after the first game, with you caught in the middle of a civil war between
survivors and marauders. As the demo showed off, you play cooperatively
to complete objectives in the game, and there will be raids which can include up to 8 players. There will also be three DLCs released after
it’s initial drop, with new story and gameplay modes, that owners of the game will get for
free. The Division 2 will be out on March 15th of
2019. 8 Code Vein
Code Vein was the product of Bandai Namco wanting to fill the void that From Software
left by ending Dark Souls. A brand new IP, Code Vein promises to boast
similar mechanics to Dark Souls, but in a much more anime inspired world. Set in a post apocalyptic dystopian world
with a whole lot of vampiric themes, the game has something called gifts that you get from
consuming blood, along with other supernatural abilities. Aside from that, not a whole lot is known
about it yet, other than it will be released sometime in 2019, having it’s initial release
date of September 2018 pushed back significantly. 7 Metro Exodus
Metro Exodus is the third installment in the Metro series, which many fans consider to
be highly underrated. One look at it’s trailers proves that it
will be a memorable title, too; it’s a first person shooter with stealth and survival horror
elements set in a post apocalyptic wasteland of the former Russian federation. It boasts both sandbox environments and linear
levels, along with a crafting system that you can create weapons with from the items
you scavenge. The game is set in the year 2036, two years
after it’s predecessor Metro Last Light, after the events of a nuclear war. 6 Crackdown 3
The third Crackdown title is set to be released on February 15th of 2019. Starring Terry Crews as a playable character,
the title was in development hell for a long while, and it was the butt of a running joke
that it would never get finished, even when trailers were released for it. The game will have an online co-op for up
to four players that lets you run around its futuristic world, along with a single player
story campaign that promises one hell of a good time. 5 Days Gone
Days Gone is one of the most hyped upcoming video games of 2019, but it’s also one that
may have been lost on many a gamer out there. That’s because it’s been in the works
for a while. Days Gone first made it’s debut at 2016’s
E3. It was then previewed again at the E3 2017,
and then again in 2018. It’s release date was pushed back from February
of 2019 to April 26th 2019, because the development team wanted more time to polish it. So you can see why it would fall off the radar
for some players, considering how many other big game announcements have made a splash
in the years since. But don’t get that confused with the quality
the game boasts; take one look at the trailers and previews, and you can tell that it’s
gonna be a blast to play. An action adventure survival horror, you play
as a drifter bounty hunter named Deacon St John, navigating your way through a post apocalyptic
open world filled with creatures called Freakers; zombie-esque infected humans who were victims
of a global pandemic. The game also introduces a mechanic with Freaker
hordes, in which you are chased around by hordes of Freakers, and yeah, it looks pretty
darn scary. 4 Yoshi’s Crafted World
After the success of Captain Toad Treasure Tracker on the Switch, you can bet your butt
that this Yoshi based game will be just as good. Yoshi returns in a new solo adventure, this
time on the Nintendo Switch, in a side scrolling platforming. Other promising features of the game? Yoshi can trigger a 180 degree swivel of the
game world, which can reveal hidden areas and items. This camera flip will also reveal hidden paths
and alternate routes. Yoshi can also interact with objects in every
single one of the stages’ backgrounds, which is pretty neat as well. There isn’t an exact release date yet, but
Nintendo has announced the game will drop in the Spring of 2019. 3 Luigi’s Mansion 3
When Luigi’s Mansion first came out on the Game Cube, it was a huge hit. Nintendo loves to revamp it’s series, so
naturally, there’s finally a Mansion title coming to the Nintendo Switch. And based on what we’ve seen so far, it
looks like they’ve got another hit on their hands. Surely the new mechanics of the Switch will
be used to up the anty for this next installment, so expect your vaccum powered exorcism excursions
to be a blast. 2 Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order
These days it’s hard to not associate a Star Wars game with Battlefront and the whole
debacle surrounding the loot boxes that went down after the second title’s release. While EA has managed to somewhat salvage that
situation, it’s still tainted the series somewhat, unfortunately. But there’s hope on the horizon, with Jedi
Fallen Order, which is set to come out in Winter of 2019. It’s also being made by the devs who brought
us Titanfall 2, which is also pretty darn exciting. The game will take place after Episode 3 Revenge
of the Sith, following a surviving Padawan during a time when Jedi are being hunted down. It’s a single player story game that’s
supposed to be full of grit. There hasn’t been a trailer released yet,
and details are fairly minimal, so it makes sense why the game hasn’t gotten a whole
lot of hype since its announcement. 1 Resident Evil 2
Resident Evil 2 is a remake of the 1998 original Resident Evil 2, part of the series reboot
that makes uses of an over the shoulder third person shooter perspective. The story follows rookie officer Leon S Kennedy
and college student Claire Redfield as they escape from Raccoon City during the zombie
apocalypse. Fans of the original series will also notice
other distinctions in the game; devs wanted to make things more realistic, so Leon no
longer wears large shoulder pads. There’s more of a focus on the horror aspects
rather than action, in an attempt to make parts of the game feel claustrophobic. And the new camera angle has made devs integrate
new ways of hiding enemies, too, so don’t think your knowledge of the original will
help keep you safe when you give this one a go. Resident Evil 2 will be released on January
25th of 2019. There we have it friends! Which of these titles are you excited for? What other games are you looking forward to
