Thai football team on their ordeal and rescue: ‘I was really afraid’

November 4, 2019

I told everyone to fight,
not to defeat. You were inside as well,
how did you feel at that moment? I was really afraid, not to
be able to return home. So everyone discussed
whether they will go inside, but we had to swim.
We had to get wet. And can everyone swim? Yes. We all can swim. So you decided to spend the night,
and did you have any food with you? The answer is no, we didn’t have
anything with us. And we found the water coming
off the rock above, where we can actually feed ourselves and so we found some shelters
to stay that night. After talking to the children
and the coach, and after many activities that we conducted to assess their mental state, we’ve discovered that
their mental state is quite good. They should be able to handle
social stress that they may face once they return home. They are also physically strong
enough to return to normal life now.
