(crowd cheering)
– [Team Chanting] Let’s go! (crowd cheering) (slow beats music) – [Coach Peabody] Last
season was very interesting. We had adversity. I gave guys probably a
little bit too much leeway. I probably gave some guys a
little bit too much trust, and then when adversity hit,
(keys clanking) their character was revealed. And the character wasn’t good. We lost 20 players this season
end in injury last year. I’ve never seen anything like that. We lost five linebackers. Done, for the season. But just the vibe, the way that the remaining guys kind of stuck together and fought, it’s something I hold my hat on, in bein’ proud of them. Especially the guys that hung in there. At the same time, it’s a great learning
experience for all of us. (slow dramatic music) – [Neo] I mean three years ago, we were in the final four
for the state championship. You know, we’re in a Southern
California championship game to play to go to the state. So, we are right there, knockin’ on the door to be able to compete for a state championship every year. – [Team] Hallowed be thy Name. Thy Kingdom come. Thy will be done on
earth, as it is in heaven. – [Coach Peabody] Play
smart, discipline football, and we get out there in the gutter. – [Team] Trespasses, as we forgive those that
trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom,
the power and the glory. For ever and ever. – [Coach Peabody] Amen.
– [Team] Amen. – [Coach Peabody] Now at the same time we have a brutally tough schedule. Things are going to happen. If you allow the adversity to
affect you in a negative way, where you hack, and you worry, and you start having doubt, or you flip it, and you let the adversity strengthen you. Look in the mirror why you lost. Don’t point at them. Don’t be a baby, ’cause of them. Shut up, and take it like a man! Shut up, and take it like a man! You know the motto for the
year is, Redemption 2019. (dramatic music) We’re going to redeem ourselves. (dramatic music)
