  1. Hunter S. Thompson's crazy routine:

    3:00 p.m. rise

3:05 Chivas Regal with the morning papers, Dunhills

    3:45 cocaine

3:50 another glass of Chivas, Dunhill

4:05 first cup of coffee, Dunhill

    4:15 cocaine

    4:16 orange juice, Dunhill

    4:30 cocaine

    4:54 cocaine

    5:05 cocaine

    5:11 coffee, Dunhills

5:30 more ice in the Chivas

    5:45 cocaine, etc., etc.

6:00 grass to take the edge off the day

7:05 Woody Creek Tavern for lunch-Heineken, two margaritas, coleslaw, a taco salad, a double order of fried onion rings, carrot cake, ice cream, a bean fritter, Dunhills, another Heineken, cocaine, and for the ride home, a snow cone (a glass of shredded ice over which is poured three or four jiggers of Chivas)

  2. Good for him… He got publicity for something worth what a serious buyer like myself would fight over. That right there is a goldmine.

  3. Rick • Let mi call a buddy of mine and find out how much its cost.
Old guy• Sure I'll wait . 10 minutes later died of natural causes.
Rick• best I can do is keep the book and trow you in the trash bin

  4. It's a book with some doodles on it.But hey keep trying to keep the show going for another season.
    This show is old news.

  5. Hunter was a known user of Psychadelics. For all they know, the 85% could've been sober writing. The appraiser doesn't seem to understand much about Thompson, because if he did he wouldve realized that the precise writing was likely Thompson not tripping balls.

  6. It would be hard to put a value on a notebook with a bunch of scribbles in it. The lawyer is way off on the price and is basically just pulling a number out of his head. The notes would only be worth what Hunter S. Thompson fan would want to pay, extremely limited market in which to sell. They did the right thing by not buying.

  7. Expert said it was worth 20-25k and Corey offers 20k that's an extremely good deal, that guy is a fool for not accepting it

  8. That Steve’s Nothing more than a Gobshite. He’s not got a clue unless it’s ripping people off.

  9. Rick: Worth 25k? Here's some pocket lint, a bottle cap, my receipt from Chipotle, a couple packets of ketchup and 37 cents. I can't go any higher than that.

  10. I feel sorry for the man; he will probably not live long enough to receive his expectations from this notepad and should have taken the $20,000.00 and enjoyed spending the money.

  11. Hunter s Thompson was the greatest journalist ever in our generation and there'll never be anyone like

He inspired me when I saw fear and loathing in Las Vegas and inspired me more when I read the book and his other works he's the greatest journalist and author ever

  12. I suspect many of the prospective sellers come here just to get a free expert's evaluation of their items. Not necessarily to sell them.

  13. It seems people bring their rare items here just to get them appraised. Makes for good TV, I guess.

  14. This dickhead Steve shouldn't ever be on Pawn Stars again. Not only that he's been proven to be completely incompetent publicly, but he's probably the greatest low-baller in the history of the show as far as appraisers and authenticators go. The old man knew what he was doing when he walked away from that offer.

  15. Love Hunter's books, but as a person he was a mumbling dipshit trying way too hard to be "kewl" weird and out there.
I could never understand a word he said in his interviews.

  16. Too neat to be his writing? So you can't have a couple different writing modes.
    A. I'm scribbling down notes.
    B. I'm writing paragraphs and coherent thoughts.

  17. Hmmm…Old man walks up to the counter with his cane and then one edit later he's sitting in a chair. ZOMFG! IT'S STAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGED! A;LKSDFNA;LKFNASKJLDFNASK;LDFNASK;LDFNAS;JDKFNAKS;JDGNAJKS;DGN!

  18. Its worth about 20-25k says expert..corey offers 20k to start.. Even corey knew the expert was low ballin

  19. Steve Grad has zero credibility pricing something by Hunter S. Thompson??? He probably hasn't even read his work… Crook!

  20. Why the old man that came in with the journal looks like he wanna steal Rick’s and Corey’s soul bruh ?????

The old man with the Journal is going to put a curse on the Pawn Shop ????‍♂️??‍♂️ All because of Rick’s Cheapass ????????????

  21. Johnny Depp would pay a fortune for this book. Thompson is his great friend, mentor and hero. He lived with him for about a year and threw a big party for his funeral on Thompsons property.

  22. Oh you have a piece of history? Well let me bring in MY expert and get that devalued for you and then offer you a third of that.

  23. "Meet joe, joe cant find a job. He'd drive for a ride sharing app, but he doesnt have a car"…. Joe sounds like a loser.

  24. My dads a writer and one of his friends was at a party with a bunch of writers one of them hunter thompson he apparently took a mouth full of either took a lighter spit the either at the flame and blew the Afro of some writer he was so mad they had to hold him back

  25. rick gets a book in store – let me get some one to take a look at this
me – i cant wait for Rebecca …
    Steve walks in
me – wtf is this guy doing here

  26. OMG…. I think some of the sketches in this may not be by Thompson but rather by one of his pals… Are those Rally Steadman sketches?

Id rather have the drawings than the text, and I've been a pretty serious gonzo journalist at one time… Sherman's art is th GREAT! (IMHO)

  27. Well if its worth 25k asking 100k is just beimg a dumbass , people realize they are going to a pawn shop.and not a auction house right ?

  28. I like how I was watching another pawn stars video and this popped in the recommended I never clicked on anything so fast like what I just did rn ?

  29. Corey acts as if he's doing everyone a favor by buying their stuff. I bet he would run that business into the ground if it wasn't for his Dad and the old man R.I.P.

  30. It’s a worth a cool million easy!

That’s why they had it undervalued by their “expert” & tried to get it for $20,000
