The first Rio 2016 Paralympic torchbearer! It’s a great honour to be able to start this relay, you know? Every minute I realise
how important this moment is. I think these are going to be the most important 200 meters of my life. An Olympic athlete is a hero, and a Paralympic athlete is a superhero. We’re showing that
there are no barriers, that everyone can practise. And that’s what sport is about:
it’s for everyone. Everything gets better with sport. It’s not about
what it means to my life, It is my life. It is everything to me. Carrying the Paralympic torch is a big thrill. My heart is beating fast. It’s a great feeling! It’s a unique feeling. I’m holding myself back to pretend that
I didn’t get emotional. There is no word in the dictionary to describe such emotion. That’s what we wanted to
show to the world: equality. I wish I had half
the motivation that you have to always overcome obstacles. We are all winners!
