Google search “indoor archery range near Delavan” and there are not too many arrows on the map, so to speak. Well, pretty soon there might be an arrow on DDHS if you were to do that same search. The physical education teachers at the school feel they’ve hit the bulls-eye when they hatched a plan to create an indoor archery range in the west gym balcony. Our facilities crews helped them out by recently installing appropriate safety netting. Now, students in the school’s unique Individual Activities and Adventure Education courses can safely use the 10-meter range, which comes complete with five standard archery targets. Besides archery, students in the individual education class play tennis, badminton, table tennis, disc golf and pickle ball. They also do power walking, running, indoor rock climbing, biking, circuit training, lap-swimming, iDance and cardiovascular fitness training. The Adventure class goes beyond and does more intense swimming, kayaking and canoeing, snowshoeing, mountain biking and they use our 40-foot outdoor challenge course. Our DDHS fitness programs are truly Awesome!
